Retrofit Emission Control Devices for diesel generators

We supply and install the Platino Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD) — a Type Approved, ARAI & ICAT certified solution that brings your existing DG set into compliance with State Pollution Control Board and CPCB emission norms, without replacing the genset.

Why RECD Is Mandatory

Diesel generators are a major, controllable source of pollution

The National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) has identified that 7–18% of city pollution comes from stationary diesel generators, and WHO estimates ambient air pollution causes over 4 million deaths a year worldwide. Government has responded with clear rules.

Under directions from the National Green Tribunal (O.A. No. 681/2018) and the MoEFCC National Clean Air Plan, every operational DG set must either fit a Retrofit Emission Control Device or shift to a gas-based generator.

Compliance At A Glance
  • DG sets ≥ 125 kVA must be retrofitted (Karnataka & most states)
  • Minimum 70% reduction required in PM, CO & HC
  • Applies to CPCB-I and CPCB-II compliance engines
  • RECD must be tested by one of 5 government-approved labs
  • Testing per 5-mode D2 steady-state cycle (ISO-8178 Part 4)
Product Highlights

Why Platino RECD is India's most trusted retrofit solution

Covers DG sets from 19 kW to 10 MW, compatible with all major engine makes — Cummins, CAT, Kirloskar, KOEL, Volvo Penta, Perkins, MTU, Mahindra Powerol and more.

01

Proven emission reduction

Over 95% reduction in Particulate Matter, plus catalytic oxidation of Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) — comfortably clearing the CPCB 70% minimum.

02

Type approved & certified

ARAI & ICAT type-approved across the 25 kVA–1000 kVA range, with triple ISO certification (9001, 14001, 45001) and a patented design registered in India and the UK.

03

Zero back-pressure design

Engine back-pressure stays within permissible limits, so there's no adverse impact on engine performance or fuel efficiency.

04

No moving parts, low maintenance

No rotating parts, no consumables, and no external power needed — self-cleaning through continuous passive regeneration during genset operation.

05

Compact, all-steel finish

Oval, triangular, cylindrical or rectangular housings with a nano thermal ceramic-blanket coating, fitted in as little as 1–5 days without major modification.

06

1-year assured warranty

Backed by an assured warranty, PAN-India service network, and remote/IoT monitoring options for larger installations.

How It Works

A straightforward retrofit process

Step 1

Site & DG Assessment

We check the DG set's kVA rating, engine make and stack layout to recommend the right RECD size.

Step 2

RECD Selection

A Platino RECD is matched to your genset from our type-approved 19 kW–10 MW range.

Step 3

Installation

Fitted onto the exhaust line without major modification — typically completed in 1–5 days.

Step 4

Testing & Compliance Certificate

Flue-gas tested, handed over with type-approval documentation for pollution board records.
